It is the fastidiousness of BCMS splitting hairs over the late arrival (by just one day ) of one calf passport application. The late arrival was caused by my application being in the post for five days. One of the BCMS ladies had actually volunteered this information to me – so she had clearly witnessed this for herself. Some people even started their own little business here in Cumbria to meet the needs… what about the staff who gave up office jobs (from within Maff as it was then ) because they were going to be paid more money at Great Orton for killing sheep – healthy sheep at that (then some would earn in a year). If some of you remember I sent emails to many a newsgroup message board when the new SI was about to be dropped on us.
