Discussion message Britain damages its poultry industry

Originally from: Pat Gardiner Pat's Comments: I get plenty of stick along the lines of: "Yes that's true, but if you say it, it will damage the pig industry." Nothing I ever say does the tiniest part of the damage that Maff-Defra, its vets and the industry organisations do to the industry. For once, I want to switch to the latest salmonella scare on eggs and point out the idiocy of the behaviour of the Food Standards Agency.

Discussion message RE: New TSE Regulations

Originally from: frances fish Not to forget that this will also apply to scrapie in sheep, chronic wasting disease in deer, etc. It is a blanket not just a response to the bovine situation. The wording is TSE not BSE, probably deliberate. The National Scrapie non-Plan is stumbling along, always moving the goalposts, obviously not getting on top of the perceived problem and, above ALL else, is costing too much.

Discussion message Auburn Uni Research data triumphs my own metalmicrocrystal TSE origin theory.

Originally from: mark purdey Dear All, I am circulating this email to my entire address book, since I am both jubilant and annoyed by the fact that the notice of patent application from researchers at Auburn university ( enclosed at the end of this email) demonstrates that my years of trudging around the global outbacks collecting analytical data from the cluster foci where the BSE group of diseases have emerged, has been experimentally validated –...

Originally from: Farmtalking I apologise as I realise I've been rather quiet lately and failed to respond to a few messages as quickly as I should. I've tended to run out of time each day – a common failing! I hope the following helps to bring you up to date.

Discussion message OT/FARM HUMOR

Originally from: lina Rev. Bloom's Kitten One Sunday morning, Rev. Bloom's kitten climbed up a tree in his front garden and wouldn't come down. He tried everything. He pleaded with it – "Here kitty kitty," he said, many times over. He placed a bowl of milk by the tree and then placed his pet's basket by the tree, but the kitten would not budge. So the Rev. thought about the problem for a while and came up with a solution.

The horror expressed by the idea that Britain should become a vast 'Theme Park' is really not so bad, once we get...

Originally from: Burkie Dear Jane: I admit that I've not been totally square in sharing. That has been purposeful. I was hoping some of you would look into this yourselves. All I am trying to do is provide some "hints" so that you can become aware of other outside dominating factors that have never been in front of any public scrutiny. In fact, what you get by looking up the names "Vestey" or "Vestey Group Ltd.

Originally from: Farmtalking Excuse me Gary, but why you think that someone whose name I don't know, which AKAIK has never been published here, whom you refer to as 'Master of the Horse' – who ever that might be – is someone that I consider 'a wonderful person'? I simply cannot understand!

Originally from: Burkie Dear John: It's more tban "just politics." One person in your country has a hell of a lot to answer for….I could ask a hundred "Why Didn't He Do? questions…..Why didn't he stand up and say, "This culling has to stop!"....but that would have affected his own personal pocketbook….we had no idea the extent of influence this person has on your whole meat trade in the U.K and the world, for that matter.

Discussion message Re: FMD future - Some good news!

Originally from: frances fish Dear Burkie, You are absolutely right. It was politics that ruled how the epidemic was handled and not veterinary medicine. Apparently some postings on this site are now suggesting that it was not possible or practical to use the new technology. This is absolute rubbish. Certain individuals in the vet "profession" are trying to rewrite history presumably because they do not like the truth.
