Discussion message RE: Rapid test and comments fom Alex Danaldson

Originally from: Farmtalking It is interesting to note that Alex Donaldson says that as no scientific data was provided by Fred Brown and Roger Breeze to confirm their claims for the rapid diagnostic test they recommended, it's use was refused.

Discussion message Prof. Brown - Daily Telegraph Obituary

Originally from: Farmtalking Alistair McConnachie has kindly sent me the following, the obituary for Prof Fred Brown, published in the Daily Telegraph on March 10th. I've copied it below for those that may not have seen it, however, although it may appear to be factual, it certainly isn't 100% and some common errors quoted in the Press re-appear! Apparently, it doesn't seem to have be written by someone who knew Prof.

Originally from: frances fish Decided to alter the title of these exchanges not to sully the name of Fred Brown. Paul, To take what you say out of context, which is what you are wont to do. You say you "haven't a clue". Now, you know, and I know that is a misrepresentation of your comment but, at face value, you wrote it, I read it, I regurgitated it so it means something entirely different. Do you begin to get the drift ?

Discussion message Re: Thanks!

Originally from: coleen Hi Jane, It was educational as I read through some of it, surprising what you forget. I also forgot just how much of it there is – thank heavens for search engines. I cannot help but think what a 'lasting tribute' to Prof Fred Brown if vaccination was introduced. We can but live in hope.

Originally from: Farmtalking I am extremely sorry to hear of the death of Professor Fred Brown OBE. Discussion message Apologies and an explanation!

Originally from: Farmtalking My apologies, I have to admit that in one of my messages yesterday I expressed my feelings of irritation and I'm sorry. Sometimes I forget that not everyone has been a member of this board since it's inception and even if they have, they may not have lived every day since early 2001 with FMD and it's consequences. Therefore, I should not expect everyone to know or remember the full story, as I understand it.

Discussion message FMD

Originally from: chris stockdale Help needed; can anyone tell me the date that Margaret Beckett said in the House of Commons, that following the 3 inquiries … 'we would be told exactly what we need to be told' ? I think it was about the day before the 'Wolverhampton' Meeting, because it was on the radio as Greg gave me a lift up there. What date was that?

Discussion message Greetings and farewell

Originally from: chris stockdale Jane, it was lovely to meet you last week at Julia's FMD exhibition in Stroud. That event,a lot of people felt, with the play and get-together afterwards, marked a turning point in the FMD episode, a sort of closure, not that we will forget. For a while now the majority even of the hard core activists seemed to have been suffering from burn-out, of emotion, time or finances.

Discussion message European Commission cover up

Originally from: Kittra EUROPEAN COMMISSION COVER UP? IT APPEARS THEY LIE AS WELL! Report by Nick Green 5 May 2002 I look forward to Sundays. Not through any desire to lay in bed till noon, have a late breakfast and then fester in front of the “box” all afternoon! Far from it. I work most weekends; this is an exception, and even if I was not at work I always arise by 0600. Life is too damn short; around 3,500 weeks! Don`t waste time!

Discussion message More from the Telegraph

Originally from: Roger Walker Christopher Booker's Notebook (Filed: 30/12/2001) Campaigns for justice can still be won AT the end of the year I reflect sadly on how many battles that I have reported in this column seem to wind on without resolution.
