"I wonder if you might like to post the new VMD rules which enact an EU legislation 2001 to make all farm animal medicines prescription only and specifically include homoeopathy.

A lot of us are working to bring some sense in this, the remedies being freely available in the high street.

To have any real effect it needs a lot of farmers to write to the VMD and say that there seems no equity in remedies they might buy from Boots and give their children being POM for farm animals?

This has opened a can of worms within the vet profession as 99% are antagonistic to homoeopathic remedies being used and claim they need to be "evidence based".

Its an interesting inhouse debate but if the vets do refuse to countenance homoeopathy and the remedies become POM and have to be registered as veterinary medicines we shall find that treatment for farm animals with homoeopathy at all becomes pretty difficult.

Farmers are pretty well unaware of this issue.

Any farmer feeling strongly should send comment to the VMD.
