Re: UPDATE ON EMMA SHEEP

Oops! I hope your vet doesn't take offence at my remark re. vets not liking nutritional explanations.
Regarding the epidemic of "epilepsy" in domestic pets I am 100% certain that every case I have encountered has in fact been tetany because dietary change has been 100% successful (for example supplementing a labrador size dog's normal meals with a can of sardines 3 times a week will stop the "epileptic" fits).
I'm not sure if sheep will eat sardines but give it a go, Sue. They're only 19p a can from ASDA and that's a lot cheaper than anything the vet will have on offer.
All the best,
Bill.

Hi Folks,
Rapidly running out of options at this end so tried a long shot and ran a metal detector over her yesterday – but that didn't detect anything.
She is still in intermittent pain and is really calling out when passing droppings – but those droppings are normal. She has to get up to pass droppings
– she cant do them laying down.
She is still scheduled for the laparatomy tomorrow. I passed all your emails on to our Vet for him to look through. He is open to suggestions so I know he will take on board everyone's thoughts.
The rest of the time though EMMA is content and happy.
Will keep you updated.
many thanks
Sue

Hi Sue,
I will have a word with my vet tomorrow for you, and ask Ron if is he upto a phone call from you.I have just lost one of my
two sheep.I put the blame on my vet not knowing about the workings of the sheep,s body. And myself, on there instructions pumping him full of liquids. And he was told that Dale was not urinating, the fluid was going in but not comming out. After a post mortam it was found that he had bladder stones, and after a blood test that I had to ask for.
His kidney was failing, now I wonder why ?
