RE: I could have stopped FMD

This man is very brave in my opinion. He stands alone in admitting that he personally made errors. For this he is to be commended, a brave honest man. What a pity that one Tony Blair and his ministers and all the others cannot emulate his example. All we get still is whitewash and hogwash. Yes, Jane, I would not argue that there are good vets our there, of course there are. But I would say to you that " for evil to prevail" it only needs these good people to keep their collective mouths shut ! On Alan Beats Smallholders site, one reader suggests that many of us spend less time "banging-on " about FMD which is "in the past" and more on help for smallhoders. There are issues from 2001 which have still not been addessed and, I suppose, the fight to expose the truth and accountability and responsibility goes on as long as so many are still disatisfied with the parlous explanations given. "Sorry" is a small word, but has a big significance to us all. No,my turn to say sorry, many of us still cannot draw a line under this, it could(look at the reports of the simulated FMD outbreak in Scotland) happen all over again. Lessons learned ? NIL ! Frances
