AgriScot 2003 – the farm business event

If you're in agriculture, the place to be on November 19 2003 is the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, Edinburgh where we are staging AgriScot, the farm business event of the year. Admission and parking are free.

AgriScot is dedicated to the future development of the farming industry. The event embraces all aspects of agriculture and presents a unique opportunity for farmers, farm managers and trade to get together to discuss business, products, services, trends and prospects. AgriScot will provide the advice, ideas and guidance required to help everyone involved in the industry to look ahead and develop their businesses.

With an inspiring mix of approximately 180 trade stands, breed society displays, young farmer events, seminars, a silage competition and live cattle judging we are staging an event that has universal appeal to the industry.

Although competitive dairy cattle classes are a major feature, the organisers have made a special effort to broaden the appeal of the event and there will be presences by the National Beef Association and the National Sheep Association.

As part of the main ring programme, SAC beef specialists will be demonstrating the understanding and use of EBVs (Estimated Breeding Value) when purchasing beef bulls and will also feature the importance of bull health.

A number of breed societies will be featured as part of or alongside the NBA and the NSA stands. Participating societies include at least seven beef breeds and seven sheep breeds. Six dairy cattle breeds – Ayrshire, Holstein, Friesian, Brown Swiss, Jersey and Guernsey – are represented on a joint breed pavilion. Quality Meat Scotland will also be there outlining its promotional plans for beef, lamb and pork and the "Specially Selected" brand which has gained wide acceptance from both trade and consumers.

Remember admission and parking are FREE.

Free Competition – win a computer package worth over £700 or a digital camera worth over £65.
