INVESTIGATION starts into how OTM cattle in the food chain were not tested for BSE

CHIEF medical officers are investigating how meat from over 30 months cattle entered the human food chain without proper BSE tests, reports The Daily Telegraph.
It was announced by the Food Standards Agency on Tuesday (14 October) that during August two beef 'casualty' cattle aged 27 and 28 months slaughtered at a Fife abattoir, were not BSE tested.
Another four cattle born in Holland were mistakenly processed as British at a Gloucestershire abattoir. They had also slipped through the 30 months testing regime.
