FMD Simulation Excersise this week!

The Scottish Executive is to stage a two-day simulation exercise of a foot-and-mouth outbreak on Tuesday and Wednesday next week, involving the rural development department’s Pentland House headquarters in Edinburgh and its Perth area office, as well as local authorities, police, environmental agencies, farmers and the media.

The exercise will test improved FMD contingency arrangements and, the Executive hopes, show how well lessons were learned during the 2001 FMD epidemic.

Dear Jane: It will be an interesting exercise....mark your calendar and then let us know when they post their results.

We had something like this done in SW Kansas on June 18th and 19th....still haven't seen or heard any of the outcome of that exercise to date!
