Prof King in a interview on the 'today programme' said he does not agree with the findings of the EU.

Let us look back to last year, he said, when we were 'celebrating'. Celebrating because we had got our 'disease free status back'. The largest fmd outbreak in the World. This was only achievable by the methods we used 'culling'. He was asked surely no one would want to see a return to farmers and animals suffering – this was not really answered.

As to vaccination/tests – there is nothing achievable at the moment – just as there never was at the time. MAFF had evaluated Prof Browns tests – but they were found not to be achievable!

The front line defence is (the 20 day movement ban) they see this as the way to stop any future 'outbreaks' becoming an epidemic. Kings words.

What they seem to have overlooked is that 'we' are probably carriers/spreaders in a far larger way then the animals.

He was then asked to comment on other matters – yes please do, ask me about other matters – he replied.
