New Animal Health Divisional Office.

I have just received the following information –
LIVESTOCK farmers in the north east of England are to benefit from the opening today (Mon) of a new Animal Health Divisional Office.
Until now, the region has been served by the State Veterinary Service working out of Carlisle, but the new office will cover 9,200 farms in Teeside, Durham, Tyne and Wear and Northumberland.
The new office will assist DEFRA and other Government departments in the fields of animal health, animal welfare, public health and international trade across the north-east.
The office will be led by the Divisional Veterinary Manager Alan Macphee, who will be responsible for leading a team of 30 staff.
Animal Health Minister Elliot Morley welcomed the opening of the new office: "This will provide a great service for farmers in the north-east of England, who now have a local office to support them."
The new Animal Health Divisional Office is based at Spurs J and K, Government Buildings, Kenton Bar, Newcastle upon-Tyne, NE1 2YA. It can be contacted by telephone (0191 214 0681) or by fax (0191 286 4452) or via e-mail ...
There is a network of 24 Animal Health Divisional Offices within the State Veterinary Service covering Great Britain.
