The Explanatory Notes for the proposed amendments to the Animal Health Act is to be published on Farmtalking.com (The Law page) and in the files and folders on the message board.

I suggest they are studied carefully as not only do the proposals seek to remove the right to request a Court decision prior to slaughter but the Minister may order the slaughter of any animal, not only those affected by, or susceptible to, the disease.

That includes all pet animals, dogs, cats, horses etc.

If you are not happy with these proposals please write immediately to your M.P. The Prime Minister, and the Minister, making your objections to the proposals very clear.

In addition, please write to the National and local Press and media, to express your contempt for this proposed legislation.
