A foot-and-mouth security zone has been set up in Cumbria.
The move follows fears that the disease could spread back to areas recently cleared of the disease.
Lorries and people entering farms within the 100-square-mile area, which stretches from Penrith to Tebay in the south and east to Brough, must apply for a special licence.
Meanwhile all vehicles have to be cleaned and disinfected when going into and leaving the area.

Originally from Thursday tankers collecting milk from properties within the zone will have to be accompanied by an official from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).
Police and council patrols will be stepped up in the area with the power to stop anyone not following the strict guidelines and order them to report to disinfecting points.
The security measures follow a second outbreak when the disease was found to have "jumped" from farms near Penrith, where it was thought to have been contained, to Orton which is seven-miles away.
A number of new cases in the last week were all on farms in between the two towns.
A Defra spokesman said: "We have reached the point where we have got the resources and the disease is in an area where we can contain and really get a full grip on it and try to eradicate it completely.
"It is in a reasonably tight area and we are trying to drive it in upon itself and eradicate it."
Defra also announced special measures for sheep shearing in the zone.
