Hi Jane,

I don't know if I can cope with another Group but have joined up anyway. I will watch with interest.

Keep up the good work! Farmers need the support of more people like you because it is getting difficult to cope with the feeling of not being wanted by politicians seeking to import cheap food at the expense of home production.

Best of Luck

David

contribute to the message board. I also hope it will be friendly and useful
to us all! I do know how difficult it is for you and others in your
position and I am working hard with Lisa (Heart of Devon) and others to try
to raise cash for farmers to help out – keep your fingers crossed for us!
Kindest regards and very best wishes – Jane B

Hi, Andrew,
Do 'they' perhaps know that FMD is still in the forest in the wildlife? Joyce

I did – by MISTAKE – but went in as Manager and deleted it.

hi all. My observations for what they are worth!
Last week was discussing this situation with a Forest Enterprise ranger and was assured that no fmd has been found in any deer tested as a result of road traffic accidents, and that the forest would appear to be fmd free. I think the more likely reason for not wanting the free-roaming sheep back is that there have been attempts over the last 10 years to'privatise' parts of the Forest, which met with strong opposition locally. The main stumbling block against 'selling off' tracts of Forest was the commoners rights to graze sheep in the Forest. If we lose the right, we open ourselves up yet again, to the threat of losing our 'rights of access' to our beautiful Forest forever.
Regards Di (Becoming more desperate and incensed by the minute)

Yeah Nick,
a great job of getting rid of all our free-roaming sheep and TRYING to get rid of all the rest of the sheep in the area. But we did a better job in helping lots of farmers and smallholders resist the cull and get blood testing instead. All of which came back negative by the way. So farmers unite! Stand up and defend your healthy animals! you can win!
As to the being in favour of an enquiry – you bet she is – with the greatly depleted majority she polled at the general election she has a good idea how 'angry the natives are'!
regards di

Hello Di,
So am I becoming more desperate and incensed.

It always looked as if they were clearing the Forest for tourism. Likewise the Dales.
WHAT CAN WE DO?
