Do you remember the "Tamworth Two"?
"Butch Cassidy" and "The Sundance Pig"?
The two boars that escaped while being unloaded at a Wiltshire abattoir in January 1998.
I only recently discoverd that the BBC went on to immortalise them in a movie....
With true deference to English prudery, 6 of the 8 pigs used to make the movie were female because it was thought that the sight of male pigs' genitals was not suitable material for family viewing!

The two male pigs that were also used were only ever shot from the front view – political correctness is alive and well and living at the BBC!
Another famously daring abattoir escape was the Aberdeen Angus heifer who was given the nickname "Houdini".
The full stories, plus a sample of clips from the BBC film, are now available online at: www.pighealth.com/reviews/tamworth.htm
