Biosecurity learned in the FMD epidemic!!

Here in the Ribble Valley the slaughterman would turn up at infected premises with an entourage numbering in excess of THIRTY. After traipsing round the infected premises and watching the proceedings they would all get into their respective vehicles and disperse far and wide to all parts of the county.

The best way to ensure biosecurity, Joyce, is to bar access to anyone who is remotely likely to have been in contact with infected animals or premises. Top of the list of persons to be barred would be Ministry vets!
