Yes Bill, I thought that was a bit simplistic, tracking up the vagal nerve ? Mystical prions with a "domino" effect. What is a "domino effect". Does anyone know ? It seems to me that none of the TSE's are infections as we know them but that is the nearest way of describing these conditions. The surest way of passing on any of these would seem to be to inject material straight into the unfortunate animals brain. Correct me if I am wrong, but would it not be possible to "donate"(shall we say ) other diseases,( almost any ?), in the same way ? Its hardly a natural occurance, is it ? We are suffering yet another scare story with foundations built on sand here in relation to Scrapie masking BSE in sheep. I think it is proving so difficult to demonstrate this because it simply doesn't happen. If its not there (like weapons of mass destruction ?) it can't be found. Like Chinese wispers these ideas are circulated and like saying that people develop CJD by eating "infected" meat, after a while they become accepted and it is for gotten that there is no evidence for any such thing, its all fabrication. Repeated often enough, some will believe and be conned, repeating in turn, the misinformation until, like the prion "theory", it is accepted widely as scientifically proven and true ! Frances
