My brain feels (and acts ?) like scrambled egg. Every time I have the chance to sit down I tend to nod off. I have missed the plot on numerous T V programmes. What is this disease ? Its lambing folks, complicated by advancing years. The prognosis is good, however,in about 2 weeks max. it will spontaneously enter a remission (until next year !) Meanwhile I soldier on, trying to keep abreast of current affairs. If Mary at Warmwell thinks she needs her batteries recharging, then I must need a new set !!! Found a lamb in the back field at about 10–30p m. Trawling around with torches to find its mother, luckily a Wensleydale with a "trailer" and wet backside. They are useless mums on the whole, compared with other breeds. They do not know how many they have, will not stand for the lambs to suckle for more than about 30secs. and seem to rely on the lamb or lambs finding them rather than vice versa. We are now entering calmer waters, with the Shetlands, bless 'em. They have very few lambing problems are fiercely protective mums, even seeing off foxes and occasionally people ! They do not need their tails docking, it comes ready done for you. I shall not be shouting their praises when it comes to a butchers assessment though. Every cloud may have a silver lining but it also has another side which might rain on your parade. There, warned you my brain is like jelly. Jelly and scrambled egg ? Sounds like one of the exotic meals we have ben indulging in when the store cupboard and freezer are raided when I have not been shopping ? On that note, I'll go and have some breakfast and raise the blood glucose level. Cheers,
Frances
