Thanks Andrew & Frances,

The problem is a friend of mine who has just moved from North Wales to Norfolk. She lives for her two pet sheep.

Prior to moving in she was unaware that an oak tree existed on the border of her land and it throws leaves over the sheep paddocks. So she has started to keep the sheep in and now the young one is getting boisterous and is head butting. She is an older lady diagnosed with brittle bones so is now scared that the sheep is going to harm her. So bit by bit the whole thing has become quite obsessive and she has ended us terrified of the younger sheep and is now asking us to take her sheep as she can not cope.

The sheep have the best of everything with her and if anything, are too spoiled. If she parts with them she loses her need to get up in the mornings. And all because she is terrified that the leaves will poison her beloved sheep.

I am trying to find out just how much of a problem these leaves really pose and do they have to eat a huge amount to cause any problem?

Cheers

Sue
