Very interested in your past history of Ryeland estate and your family connections to it. You are not a member of the Ryeland Soc ? WHO told you that it was too wet for this breed where you are, someone who wanted to sell you shetlands ? Not so very far from you lives Susan Bryden who has championship sheep (near Lockerbie ) She would have a laugh if she read that one. Shame you were not at Carlisle Rare Breeds as there were coloured Ryelands there. On the other hand, I'm sure you would have been so taken with them that they may have gone home with you !!!
