The veterinary surgeon, Roger Windsor, has recently been working in Laos but retires from veterinary practice this month.

He has spent much of his career working all over the world and served on the RCVS Council for some time, as many of you know well.

His support and efforts on behalf of farmers affected by FMD in 2001 was legendary and quite unswerving.

Roger has always been interested in the arts and is a staunch supporter of the Theatre in Dumfries. During his travels around the world he has taken an interest in local art and the artists he has met whenever possible.

He hopes to spend much of his retirement at his newly established Art Gallery in Dumfries and is holding an exhibition there this month, from the 8th to 22nd November 2003.

Titled 'Some of my Friends' the exhibition displays – and offers for sale – some of the work of the artists he has met during his lifetime.

If anyone is able to attend this exhibition, I'm sure Roger would be delighted to see them and I'm sure they will find the work displayed interesting too!
