"In the latest in a series on the North-South divide, BBC News Online asks whether regional assemblies can close the widening economic gap." This page spells out the pros and cons of regional devolution in England. It also has readers replies to the project. They are very illuminating. I wonder, personally, if this is also a pretext to depopulating the rural areas in the North. There is definitely an ulterior motive for the whole concept. I wonder what it is?
