I'm not attempting to minimise the dangers of TB but yes I do agree many things can and do cause a reaction to the test, so rapid slaughtering may not be the answer.
Yes my classmate did grow up without any effects of active TB, in fact I think it came to light that a family member had had the disease.... so rather like killing antibody-positive FMD animals it seems that we may in fact be killing the wrong animals... ie those with their own natural immunity.
There is an interesting bit in Peter D'Adamo's book "Live Right for your Type" about genetics and natural immunity [or lack of]...to particular diseases.
I wonder if in breeding high yielding cows we are in fact increasing the TB problem?
Do you know if TB is as rampant in beef cattle as it seems to be in dairy? Joyce
