determination
by the 'Establishment' to move livestock out of the Alberta / Saskatchewan,

Not just Alberta/Sask.. current "Mad Cow" Crisis is affecting all of Canada..

irrespective of the science of TSEs or the interests of the local farming
population out there. But I have not as yet understood their motives for
suiciding
their own rural communities.

A number of things, OECD Ag subsidies are 300–360B$ year.. And there is a big political drive to cut back subsidies..
Even if governments pay well over short term market value as UK government did during FMD.. they are big winners saving long term subsidies if they force farmers out of business..

Further, the so called globalization process is also an urbanization process.. Similar things happening all over the world.. E.G. Chinese previously estimated 150 million excess farmers post WTO as example..
I believe some programme the Uk governement was sponsoring (under Claire Short??) was estimated to displace 20 million farmers in Andra(?) Pradesh..A couple million Polish small farmers estimated to be forced off the land after EU-nification... etc.. etc.. etc..

Also dovetails with the sustainability agenda..

Having lectured both government / scientific and farming bodies ( and field
researched ) out there, I certainly detected this mindset determination by
the
Canadian government itself to slaughter out its own cattle herd in these
areas
, regardless of the scientific truth on the cause / control / prevention of
TSE diseases. They had totally deaf ears to anything that deviated from the
feed BSE cause theory, even though this single cow with BSE was totally
'range
reared' on pasture and hay throughout its entire life- the Canadian
government
researchers actually told me this when I lectured them in Edmonton !!

It would suit the Canadian pols as well.. to force their farmers out of business under the guise of a bogus scare..
Also conditions the remaining ones to support "rule based" trading..
All the major Canadian federal parties, Liberals, Alliance, NDP are lickspittle globalists...

It seemed that the Canadian gov had a prime opportunity to sue the US gov
over the legality of their blockade, either via a US breach of World Trade
Organisation agreements ( that hideous bureaucratic weapon that the US love
to
wield out on others who do not buy their produce ) or via challenging them
to
provide the science that proves that TSE diseases are infectious and that
TSE
affected meat can cause CJD in humans.Because there is no evidence to back
this
supposition, then the Canadians could have only succeeded in crushing the
ban at
the borders. The Canadian government's inaction and lack of motivation to
protect their own people's interests betrays an agenda.
Either the Candian gov were/are behaving in a pathetically weak manner (
which I find hard to believe ) or they were in league with the US blockade
on
their own beef at the borders, and thus determined to use this blockade as
their
vehicle of justification for the slaughter . In fact, the recent outrageous
behaviour of governments across the world towards their own indigenous
farming
communities betrays exactly what is going on in Canada, not to mention here
in
Europe.
So I guess its something to do with globalization policies, promoting the
global vision of corporation controlled GM arable crop proteins and food
products
instead of natural meat and milk proteins. Or, as you suggest Burkie,
something to do with the cleansing that slice of Canadia to make way for
the
totalitarian take over of the terrain by the oil companies.
Whatever; we need to haul out all of the culprit politicians from around
the
world who are responsible for prostituting our economies and cultures to
the
corporate beast. We need to hold them accountable for betraying the long
term
healthy interests of the people of this planet. The heartless deviants like
Blair need total exposure now, before it is too late. Sorry, but I am
betraying
my 'Mundi Club' tendencies now !!
