Talk about being late with teh news broadcast. The first I saw of it was yesterday (Friday) when I got my daily feed from the news line. This is what I found from Google (Search Argentina Cattle Malaysia). Note the date of this report:_

Argentinian cattle set sail for Malaysia
For the first time in 25 years, Argentina is exporting live cattle outside of the South American region. A shipment of 1,500 Argentinian cattle are reportedly due to arrive in Malaysia in October (Cow-Calf Weekly). The cattle will reportedly be fed further on arrival prior to slaughter in accordance with Islamic religious procedure. The beef derived from these cattle will be marketed to the high-end foodservice segment in Malaysia – including luxury hotels.
The competitiveness of the Argentinian peso relative to the US$ has contributed to making the live cattle trade viable.
The cattle originated from the province of Buenos Aires – a considerable distance from the northern province of Salta where the last FMD outbreak was reported in early September. This week, the Office International des Epizooties (OIE) announced that no further outbreaks have been detected since in Argentina.
