Hi ....,

I agree it's not nice but,,,,

What about the nice real leather shoes that my wife
and daughters like to wear. I suppose the material
comes from living animals!

This is not about wearing leather shoes, i do that
myself as well. This is about pets being killed for
their fur.

I like my cat and would never harm him on purpose.
We have a problem with feral cats. These cats used
to be someone's pets until the cats got fed up with
being ignored/abused and decided to go walkabout.

You like your cat, thats good, but how would you feel
if someone else took it and skinned it for a fur coat?

This is what can happens to them :-

This guy is a legend :-

and he wears a hat made out of the skin of a feral
cat.

I know cats can become a problem, we have had that
here in Holland as well, but we found a different way
to deal with that. The cats get caught, brought to a
vet then spayed or neutered and placed back, cause
you see apart from being a nuisance they can serve a
purpose as well, like killing mice and rats.

I had a problem with the neighbours dogs barking all
night. I called the officials and to every one I
said that I do not blame the dogs but the management
of them. The owner assured the officials that they
were good pets. When the Nuisance Order was finally
served the owners took the dogs out and shot them!

If that is what happened these people should not be
allowed to ever get another dog again. So did you go
and talk to your neighbors about this first? Was there
no other way to solve the problem? Did you also file a
complaint after they shot their dogs?

The outcry about cute kangaroos being farmed for
their skins, meat etc. Good grief there are more
feral roos in each Australian state than there are
people in the UK. What is important feeding
sheep/cattle in the paddocks for human consumption
or letting oversized 'cute' rats steal the crops?

I have no problem with kangaroos being farmed for
meat skins ect. As long as they are treated as good as
possible like any other farm animal should be treated.

So what is cruelty? Farming animals for their
products? Thats been going on for ever!

Cruelty is what was shown in the article i send.
Beating animals up and skinning them alive.
Grabbing other peoples pets and doing the same.
And as far as dogs are concerned i think that those
who eat dogs are cannibals. Different from all other
animals it was the wild dog/wolf who chose to take the
side of humans. They hunted, lived and fought together
in order to survive. Apart from that there is very
little that you can not teach a dog. That is why they
are so good in helping people who are blind, deaf,
have a handicap are diabetes or suffer from spasm.
Research done by professor Smallenbroek has shown that
people who suffer from high blood pressure can get
their blood pressure to go down only by stroking a
dog. He has also shown that older people who have a
dog have a much better live quality, they are
healthier and they have much more social contacts.
So farming dogs for food or fur is a very cruel thing
to do i think. Most dogs are more social and honest
then humans. I have trained and bred police dogs for a
long time. You go tell a cop who live has been
depending on the dog he works with that it is ok to
eat and strip of the skin from a still living dog
here, they will have a hard time not beating you up.
I think it is disgusting and the people who do that
are worse then sewer rats.
Take care,
Lina
