Hi Lina

I do not think you need to follow any regime. Just to be sensible and aware of what you are feeding your dogs/animals is the main criteria – and you seem to be doing that already. Stay away from, salts, sugars needless additives and large portions!!

I think some people get hooked on these feeding regimes and then seem able to get off that treadmill.
If your dogs enjoys a (safe) bone to chew on great, if they like raw fruit and veg give them some. So long as they get a complete package i.e. protein and carbohydrates with the protein proportioned to their activity levels then I cannot see the need for any diets. I rather think that these people like to take over our thinking. Of course it is completely down to the individuals concerned.

I do know a few people who have their dogs on various diets. One person starves her dog on Fridays (I think). Purge the system is the theory. All that happens is the kids give the dogs their biscuits and it also steals whatever it can. So it would be better to feed the dog properly. On another days she feeds raw bones and lots of raw meat. She really seems at a loss as to why for the next few days it has an upset tummy. No amount of telling her makes the slightest difference.
This is a wonderful diet – and her dog is happy on it.
