Bobby Waugh's place was a festering reservoir of virus, but where did the virus come from in the first place? By strange coincidence it was the same strain as 1967/68, is that where it came from?

In low doses the virus produces little or no symptoms so it could rattle around in hill sheep for decades without being noticed.

Was it from vaccine testing? Now here's an interesting one. Vaccines were being tested in Devon in the late 90's. All animals from the testing programme were supposed to be incinerated. But all of them weren't, some were being sold to the meat trade.

How did the meat traders dispose of the bones? If I remember correctly the 1967/68 epidemic was discovered at a farm where infected bones had been eaten by pigs!!!
