State Veterinary Journal
CSF Edition (Vol.11 No1.2001)

From: ...

Originally from the Foreword, this document cannot have been written earlier than the middle of 2001 at the earliest, and would seem to have been either published on amended on the WWW within the last three months (Google Advanced Search)

The Editor is Dr. Mike Lamont. Dr Lamont was the DVM who visited my home on 12 December 2000.

What happened is described in detail on http://pages.britishlibrary.net/patgardiner/stopworld7.htm

No complaint lies against Dr Lamont, although we have a correspondence detailing document falsification arising from his visit.

The SVS journal contains much fascinating material pertinent to the arrival and spread of CSF and FMD.

It also has a Forward by the Chief Veterinary Officer Mr Scudamore. He acknowledges that he has failed to identify a source of infection but goes on to speculate.

Those speculations were current at the time and were debunked by an East Anglian Daily Times journalist. The EADT journalists were later ordered to cease reporting CSF.

In this same edition, of the SVJ, one of the most senior private pig specialist vets in East Anglia begins to suggest an alternative source not publicly considered by the SVS. I can add information to this, and will do so later.

Meantime, you can access this fascinating publication online via http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/svj/default.htm.

I’m especially interested in when the CSF virus was first identified as being of East Asian origin. The reports are conflicting and it would seem that the SVS may have either known the origin earlier than they were admitting or were publicly suggesting incorrect origins as factual before they actually knew.

Any knowledgeable comments or help on this last will be appreciated.

Pat Gardiner
