as part of my work on DEFRA's FMD Stakeholder Communications Group I keep pressing for the sort of bio-secure entry/exit portals for farms in the event of an FMD outbreak that Drs Sutmoller and Barteling were stating as essential if a non-vaccination policy is to be followed – like the entry/exit portals for mobile laboratories.

I also keep asking after developments in the search for a painless and effective nasal lavage, but have consistently drawn blanks so far. Perhaps this event will re-emphasise the point.
