Many thanks for that one Mary. The whole thing stinks of corruption. PowderJect do not show smallpox vaccine as a product on their website so presumably this is a hastily cobbled together scheme cashing in on September 11.

The smallpox vaccine will be made from Vaccinia (cowpox) virus which PowderJect will have large stocks of. This vaccine will not prevent infection, especially by the more aggressive strains of smallpox (i.e. the ones the terrorists are likely to use).

Vaccinia will however moderate the disease bringing down the likelihood of death from 30% or more to about 1%. The big danger with Vaccinia vaccination is vaccinated persons can become infected with smallpox and not know it, thus continuing to travel to work etc. and infect many people.

When the disease was endemic to this country vaccinated persons were the principle cause of epidemics. The disease was only eliminated worldwide by the use of Variola Major (smallpox) vaccine.

You may also have read in the papers this week that Blair is to make Heroin available on the NHS to drug addicts. In the medical profession Heroin is known as dia-morphine (diacetyl-morphine) and guess who manufactures it in the U.K.?
