I've just received the following message from John Harrison and I have to agree that he has a point! It will be interesting to see how much support the strike action called for by Farmers for Action on the 23rd August receives!

We are here and have been regaining momentum with sausage sales following Blairs folly.

I have always had a natural resistance to strikes and I can't see the point of a 24 hour strike.

Like the fuel protest. The suppliers know that everyone will need to restock sooner or later.

But a clever bloke once promulgated the theory that there should be a boycott of one brand for a concerted period 3 or 6 months say. That way they would reduce their prices and force a price war.

I think there are better ways of making a point than biting the hand that feeds you. If the Garden Centre phoned with a restocking order I'd be their fast as my little Fiat would take me. Strike day or not!!! Could not afford not to!

sorry to poor cold water and all that but think again with something clever and original and I'll be there!

Please pass this on
John
