Perhaps the point I was trying to make is that none of US have all the answers, whether it be our profession, are hobby or just our topic upon the old soapbox. And we should not ignore others their views or be afraid to admit that they might just know more than us because they come from outside that spectrum. Which is I am afraid to say what is happening. There are good people on this group who will not voice their views for fear of being 'got at' One of the reasons we are in this mess today is because of bad science. You would think that the scientists could get it right, if no one else. No one is fool proof or has all the answers – that is why groups like this on whatever subject are invaluable if used correctly. We should not try to smother everyone's varying views – nor wrap the group up in cotton wool – just be polite and agree to differ. Non of us are indispensable and non of us are perfect – and we are all here but for a short time. We do not own the earth our home/land but safeguard it for future generations.

I did not make my comments as a 'townie' but some who has lived in the Country for over 20 years, but I have no objections to someone from the town expressing their views, just as I would hope my views on town life would be listened to if binned afterwards.

I have one point in all of this and it is, no one owes anyone a living – if there is a viable living to be had from the land then great – no one would be more happier then me to see animals back on the land. But surely not to go back to pre FMD and farmers not being able to make a decent living because we are just so overstocked, That is both soul destroying and unsustainable, surely.
