I take your point that the best opinion is informed opinion,
 but in reality of course very highly informed opinion can still
 produce very different results – look at those of very emminent scientists WRT FDM policy. Most opinion is formed on the basis of gut reaction – the general public will only bother to acquaint itself very fleetingly with the facts of any particular issue, if at all. Since I am sure we do not wish to take away their fundamental human right to express an opinion without first having taken a PhD on any given subject, It is how you can seek to influence that gut reaction which is crucial. I know how nervous some members of this and the other group have been about expressing an opinion they might have as they are scared it will be jumped on as uninformed by others they see as more knowledgeable on a subject and I dont think we should attempt to stifle any debate on that basis.
